Dear Parents/Guardians:
The Kansas State Board of Education launched a new vision for education – Kansas leads the world in the success of each student. This vision focuses on identifying and addressing the unique needs of each student. A key piece of this vision is helping students to explore and identify their passions while graduating them with the skills needed to be successful in the workforce and in life.
To better address the needs of current and future students, the Kansas State Department of Education is surveying parents and guardians of children 18 years of age or younger about their current perceptions about various post-high school opportunities. In other words, how do you as a parent or guardian define success for your child?
Please take five minutes to complete the following survey, answering questions in respect to your oldest child who is today 18 years old or younger.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this short survey and for all you do to help our state prepare the next generation of Kansas children for tomorrow’s workforce.

To celebrate national yearbook week, the yearbook staff is running a a daily trivia contest. Everyday this week we will read a trivia question for any high school student to answer. To receive the daily prize, the winning student must take a selfie with the answer to the trivia question and then show the selfie to Mr. Curtis.
There will be one winner everyday.
And then on Friday, the yearbook editors will draw four names from all the students who have already bought a 2019 yearbook. Any junior high or high school student who has bought a yearbook is eligible to win. If you haven’t bought a yearbook yet, you have until Friday morning to buy one and become eligible. A list of students who have bought a yearbook is posted outside of Mr. Curtis’s classroom.
Ok. Are you ready? Here is today’s trivia question: this LJSHS staff member first appeared in the Leopard yearbook in 1995? Who is it?
Today’s winner was L. Sneath who figured out the 1995 yearbook would have been Mrs. Curtis’s (Ms. Harrell) first year teaching in Lincoln
