On Saturday, April 1, Levi B. performed a trumpet solo for the Regional Solo and Small Ensemble Musical Festival in Larned. He received a "1" Rating for his performance and is now moving on to perform at Hesston College for the State Musical festival on April 29. Mr. Riggs states, "Levi is an excellent, self-motivated musician and I am pleased to see his hard work earn him this honor."

The Jr. High students have been working really hard on their STEM Expo projects. Come check out all the projects Monday March 6th at 6:30PM in the high School commons. Rocket launch will be at 6:35PM and the Balloon Car tournament will began at 7PM.

The senior physics class competed at the regional KidWind Challenge on Tuesday. They built wind turbines, presented to judges, took a knowledge quiz and instant challenge. The two teams placed third and fourth in our regional! Their turbines produced 20 joules of energy in 1 min.

Dr. Randy Watson, Commissioner of Education and Cathy Hopkins, District 5 State Board of Education made a visit to the L Tech Center today to visit with students and staff on the advances USD 298 has made in opening a technical education center to provide training and certifications for high school students in the area.
