LES Parents/Guardians: Lifetouch Spring Class pictures were incorrectly printed in the Lifetouch lab. Lifetouch is working on this issue, but it may be some time before this issue is resolved. A handful of individual student pictures were also printed incorrectly and were sent back to the Lifetouch lab for reprinting. If you would like a picture retake due to picture quality, we are working with Lifetouch to schedule a date. When more information is available we will let you know. Thank you for your patience.

In February, the LHS STUCO sold well over 100 Heart-Grams to LJSHS staff and students to raise money to support Mr. Alan Finch, custodian at LES, as he undergoes cancer treatments. Concurrently, the LHS NHS held a Coins for a Cause marathon to raise money. As a result of the combined efforts of these service-oriented organizations, $523.68 was raised to help Mr. Finch through this time. Brecken Obermueller, President of STUCO and NHS, and Evelyn Garay, NHS Treasurer and STUCO member, presented Mr. Finch with a check on March 9. The STUCO and NHS would like to thank all who participated in the fundraising efforts and Mr. Finch for his contributions and dedication to the USD 298 community.

Help us celebrate National School Breakfast Week - March 8 - 12, 2021. A healthy breakfast is an essential element in just about any endeavor, whether it's an important test, the big game or getting through the day with a positive attitude. Studies show that students who eat school breakfast are more likely to: reach higher levels of achievement in reading and math; score higher on standardized tests; have better concentration and memory; be more alert; and maintain a healthy weight. Eat breakfast at school! (All school meals will continue to be free to all enrolled students through the end of school this year.)
