2021-2022 enrollment packets will be mailed out next week and enrollment information will be posted on our website as well. If you have moved from our district or are new to our district, please contact the school board office at (785) 524-4436 with your contact information and your student’s grade level. Enrollment dates are August 2, 12 noon – 8 pm, and August 3, 8 am – 2 pm, at Lincoln Jr./Sr. High School.
For the 2021-2022 school year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is continuing their commitment to provide meals free of charge for our students. If there is a balance over $5 in your student’s lunch account from the 2020-2021 school year, you may request a refund. USD 298 Lincoln is looking for a paraprofessional at Lincoln Elementary for the 2021-2022 school year. You can stop by the Board of Education office to pick up an application or visit our website. Have you heard of our Beef to Schools program which is sponsored by local producers and the USD 298 Education Foundation? The purpose of the program is to utilize locally grown high quality hamburger from around the Lincoln County area. Local producers donate an animal to be butchered and processed into hamburger that is used for different meals for the LJSHS and LES school lunch program. The processing is paid for by the USD 298 Education Foundation and the steaks from the animal are offered to the public for purchase by donation to help the foundation recoup the processing costs. The steaks are wrapped in packs of two, either two ribeye steaks or two t-bone steaks. Suggested donation is $20/pack, which is a tax deductible donation through the foundation.
Since the program began and has become well utilized by our schools we have booked future appointments at the Ellsworth Packing Plant, Inc., Ellsworth, KS. Click on the link to the Beef to Schools to sign up. If you would like to donate, fill in your name and contact information.

As always, we will also accept “cash cow” donations from those who may not have a real live bovine at home. There is a plaque at the Lincoln Jr/Sr High School with the names of generous donors; your name could be there too!

USD 298 Lincoln has developed a District Plan for Safe Return for the upcoming 2021 - 2022 school year. You may view that information by going to the webpage, selecting Documents, COVID 19 Resources, and select the 2021-2022 District Plan.
This past week, 25 3rd-8th graders participated in the Lincoln Volleyball skills camp! The girls worked hard and improved every day! We had a blast!! Thank-you to all the high school girls plus the junior high and senior high coaching staff that helped! #leopardsvolleyball
Our district recently received a hydroponic Tower Garden from KSDE and Juice Plus+. Right now lettuce and herb seeds are sprouting. When ready to harvest the vegetables will be served to kids getting lunch through our Summer Grab & Go Meals program. In this Tower Garden, plants grow without dirt and actually grow faster than in dirt with the water and nutrients that are added to the tower. All Community Access to the Weight Room and LJSHS Gym will be shut off Wednesday, June 23 through Sunday, June 27, due to scheduled maintenance.

Community access for the HS weight room and gym has been reopened effective June 7 for those that have purchased a community access card. Please remember that if there are school events and activities, they take priority. This week Monday - Thursday, the gym is not available due to the HS Girls Basketball Camp. The weight room will be available this week. Access is 7-10 pm, Monday through Friday, 8 am to 10 pm, Saturday and Sunday. If you already purchased a card in the past, it should be active. A couple reminders, if you are the last one out, shut off the lights; do not allow anyone in the building that has not purchased a community access card; don't prop open any doors; and you have to be at least 18 years old to get a card. Please act responsible and take care of our facilities or access will be denied.
We are participating in the City Wide Garage Sales this Saturday, June 12. Our sale is from 7:30 am - 12:30 pm at Lincoln Elementary School parking lot. Check out the flyer for more information.
In the course of cleaning out items for the 2nd Annual USD 298 Garage Sale, LES staff uncovered school picture ID cards for students born in the mid-eighties to early nineties. If your are an LES alumni from this time or a parent of an alumni and you would like your student ID back as a keepsake, come see Mrs. Schmidt at the garage sale and stay for the bargains. We promise to not judge 1980s and 1990s hairstyles, and the fashions your mother made you wear for picture day.
For the third consecutive grant cycle, the Post Rock Community Foundation has awarded Lincoln Elementary School a Post Rock Grant to cover the cost of new classroom technology. In October 2020, LES was awarded a Post Rock Grant for educational playground equipment that has not arrived due to COVID 19 shipping delays. In May 2020, a Post Rock Grant was awarded for the purchase of new classroom projectors. Thank you to the Post Rock Foundation for your continued support and generosity.
