LJSHS Parents/guardians: The LJSHS band concert scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2020 has been canceled due to the restricted spectator and mask mandate. We will be working on an alternate virtual concert in the near future. Please stay tuned!

The HS JV Football game scheduled for Monday, October 19, at Sylvan has been cancelled.

USDA has extended the Free School Meals for all students enrolled in USD 298 for each school day through this school year. Students are eligible for a free breakfast and lunch. Are your students taking part in this free meal program?

St. John Lutheran Church has cancelled Week Day for this Wednesday, October 14 and also Wednesday, October 21. They plan to resume classes on Wednesday, October 28, unless otherwise notified.

Lincoln Elementary School picture day with LifeTouch has been rescheduled to Thursday, November 12.

To all LJSHS students and parents: there are no changes to our schedule with the exception of wearing a mask during school, practice, and activities. At this point in time, we will continue to have the activities this week as planned. Please make note of the mask mandate and the limited spectators at indoor activities. LES Parents/Guardians: Lifetouch School Pictures for all elementary students are postponed. They will be rescheduled for late October or early November. Thank you.

LES Parents/Guardians: If your child is in a modified quarantine plan, the parent email that was provided at enrollment has been sent detailed instructions. If you did not receive an email, your child is not in a modified quarantine plan. If you have questions about the modified quarantine plan, please email Mrs. Schmidt. Parents and Guardians of USD 298, this is Scott Crenshaw Superintendent of Schools with an important message. There has been a confirmed staff member who has tested positive for COVID-19 at Lincoln Elementary School. The Lincoln County Health Department is contact tracing all individuals who were potentially exposed to this person. Following recommended best practices, there will be students who will be placed in a modified quarantine situation at school. If your student is affected by this situation, you will be contacted by Lincoln County Health Department. We believe we are in a low risk situation due to the precautions that have been in place since school started with faculty who wear masks and plexiglass barriers. However, we must be diligent and follow the best practices for quarantine. Starting Monday, October 12, I have ordered, with Board of Education support, that USD 298 will move to a mask mandate for all students and staff at LES and LJSHS. This mask mandate will be in place for 14-16 school days. We are going to be proactive and do everything in our power to isolate and prevent further exposure. All students have been provided masks by the district, however if you choose to bring your own, that is acceptable. Spectator limitation will be enforced at indoor activities. Student athletes will be allowed 2 spectators who must have tickets to enter. Masks will be required for all spectators at indoor activities. We request that you be diligent and adhere to social distancing practices. The safety of our students and staff members is our top priority. Thank you in advance for your support.

There will be school for all USD 298 students on Monday, October 12. This is a change from the calendar adopted last year. On Friday, October 16, there will be no morning or afternoon preschool classes, with school being dismissed at 1 pm for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Have a great weekend!
