The JH games on December 6 with Rock Hills will start at 3:00 with girls C team followed by C Boys then B girls and boys then A boys and girls.

When a student is nominated for a Leopard Leader by a staff member their picture (shown below) is displayed on the TV in our hallway for one week, they get to take a Leopard Leader paper home, and they get to ring our big hand bell on Friday when they come to Character Education class. Thank you to all LES parents, families and friends who came out to support LES 1st-5th grade students running the mile yesterday. LES students love to run! Please remember that pledge sheets for the Track-a-Thon Fundraiser for Track Renovation at Mettner Field are due in 12 days. Please help continue the strong tradition of USD 298 excellence in running for future generations.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at LES. 4th grade students from Mrs. Zamecnik's and Miss Berndt's classes decorated the main hallway Christmas trees today. Each ornament on the tree is for a LES student or staff member.

Anatomy and Physiology is a new class offered this year for students interested in pursuing careers in the medical field. Mr. Lee and his A & P students, Alexis and Gabe, are learning about the shoulder muscles using the new Anatomy in Clay Maniken 2. Human Models.
USD 298 parents and guardians, for 2022-2023 planning purposes LES is gathering information on potential 4 year old and 3 year old Preschool students for next school year. Attn LES Parents/Guardians: LES is experiencing a high number of student illnesses, more than 15% of students are absent due to illness. Most illnesses have respiratory or stomach flu-like symptoms at this time. Please encourage students to stay at home if they are sick and wash their hands often. If a student is unable to cover their mouth and nose properly due to excessive coughing or respiratory symptoms, they may be asked to wear a mask to remain in school. Parents and guardians will be notified before this. LES is a mask optional building, but masks are encouraged for student and staff wellness. If you have any questions please call Mrs. Schmidt. Today’s JH games will be played at Pike Valley Elementary in Courtland. The games will start at 4 with JV girls. After that there will be a rolling schedule of JV Boys, followed by Varsity Girls then Varsity Boys. Temperature checks will be required upon entrance.
