Schools are required to conduct at least four fire drills, two tornado drills and at least three crisis drills each school year. Our district held a crisis drill for emergency lock down today at our schools.

LES Site Council Trash Bag orders are available to pick up at the school starting tomorrow. Parents please pick up your student's order as the bags are bulky. Trash bags can still be purchased at school anytime. Thank you for your support of the LES Site Council.
Reminder to community card holders that the LHS weight room will be closed for access as HS wrestling has begun today. It will remain closed until JH wrestling is over mid-March.
We are collecting goods for a local family who lost everything in a house fire this last week. The family is in need of blankets and bedding for twin and queen size beds. Clothing for the parents ( size 24 pants/ 2-3xl womens and 36-38 pants/xl mens) and toys for the kids (2 boys). Any donations can be dropped off at Citizens State Bank in Lincoln as well as any monetary donations. If you have any questions please contact LES at 524-4487.
Thank you for all the candy donations, letters and drawings for active duty military. Members of the 3-1 AHB from Fort Riley will be at LES at 2:30 today to accept donations and speak to students. One more reason there is a lot to love about Lincoln schools.
Next week's JH basketball game on November 19 will be played at Cawker City and starts at 3:30 with 2 quarters of JV girls.
Congratulations to J. Fenn for having her Patriot's Pen essay win 1st place!Her essay will go onto the state level. Also, congratulations to J. Davied for earning 2nd place and G. Stewart for earning 3rd place. They all wrote essays around the theme "What makes America great?". Great work!!

Mary Andersen, Lincoln Carnegie Children's Librarian/Director, came to both Lincoln Elementary Preschool classes today to celebrate Kansas Reads to Preschoolers. The kids loved having her read to them a special book, I Like MySelf!, for this state-wide event.

Today is National STEM/STEAM Day! This day inspires students to explore their interests in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math! Our high school IT Class is programming an advanced program in Scratch today.

Monday is Veterans Day. We would like to thank our veterans for everything they have done to defend our freedom.
Today our high school students had the privilege to hear from some VFW service members about their experiences.


Parents and Community Members: Too much Halloween candy in your house. Please consider donating it to the Halloween Candy Drop Off for Operation Gratitude for deployed service members taking place at LES November 12-November 15 from 7:45-8:30 a.m. and 3:30-4 p.m. Please take candy out of treat bags, no powerdery candy like Pixie Sticks, no full size candy bars. Letters and drawings for deployed soldiers will also be collected, please do not seal them in envelopes. Everything collected will be give on November 18 to members of the 3-1 AHB Battalion at Fort Riley. Any questions call the office, feel free to share.
