Mrs. Ptacek is spotlighting teachers and staff members for the amazing work they do at LES. There will be three teachers and three staff members recognized each month and December is the first month for the spotlight. The ones being recognized this month are Mrs. Ringler, Mr. Cavalli, Mrs. Hayworth, Mrs. Lyne, Mrs. Wirth, and Mrs. Greenwood. They are recognized on a bulletin board in the main hallway (pictured below) at LES for all students, staff, and visitors to see, and through Facebook and our USD 298 website. Please read about these awesome LES staff members and give us a hand in recognizing the great work they do for our school! Post 1 of 2

Post 3 of 3- These LES students were nominated for Leopard Leaders this week! When a student is nominated for a Leopard Leader by a staff member their picture (shown below) is displayed on the TV in our hallway for one week, they get to take a Leopard Leader paper home, and they get to ring our big hand bell on Friday when they come to Character Education class. Check out how these Leopards showed great character!

Thank you to all LES parents, families and friends who came out to support LES 1st-5th grade students running the mile yesterday. LES students love to run! Please remember that pledge sheets for the Track-a-Thon Fundraiser for Track Renovation at Mettner Field are due in 12 days. Please help continue the strong tradition of USD 298 excellence in running for future generations.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at LES. 4th grade students from Mrs. Zamecnik's and Miss Berndt's classes decorated the main hallway Christmas trees today. Each ornament on the tree is for a LES student or staff member.

From Mrs. Pittenger
LES students will plan to run the mile on Thursday, December 2nd.
Sorry for the short notice but the temperature is supposed to be in the 70's so I wanted to get it done.
We will run on the west playground.
Parents and friends are invited to come and watch but we ask that you stay outside the fence.
The students will run at the following (approximate) times.
1A Mrs. Naasz 8:55
