Lincoln Elementary School was awarded a Shifting School Culture Recognition this year for our Leopard Families program by Kansas State Department of Education in partnership with character.org and Smoky Hill Education Service Center. This award is for schools or districts that have developed and implemented a Social Emotional Character Development (SECD) initiative or program for at least one year and are transforming the school culture as well as growing student SECD skills. LES was one of three schools and two districts who received the Shifting School Culture Recognition in the state of Kansas this year. I would like to thank all of the wonderful students, staff, and families that have supported this program over the last few years! Without all of you, none of this would've been possible! It has been so awesome to see students and staff building new cross-grade and student/staff relationships, getting to know each other better, improving SECD skills, and just having fun through our Leopards Families program. This program has been one of my favorite things to do at LES and I will truly miss being a part of it next year! -Mrs. Ptacek If you would like to watch the award recognition video or read more about our Leopard Families program, please visit this link from the award ceremony today by Smoky Hill Education Center.
